Peter Szabo began his Articles in March 1976, after the Family Law Act commenced, and has over 45 years of experience in family law in Australia. He manages all facets of family law litigation, from pro bono parenting disputes to third-party financial cases, including the landmark High Court case Ascot Investments v Harper. As the inaugural Chairman of Victoria’s Advisory Committee for Law Specialists Accreditation, he pioneered family law accreditation. Peter presents to lawyers, accountants, and financial planners on solutions at the intersection of family law, asset protection, and succession planning via Financial Agreements. His guiding principle is to secure equitable settlements while fostering enduring family relationships after resolution.
